The Plainfield Area Humane Society strives to find homes for ALL of the animals entrusted to our care. However, a number of animals are older, have medical problems or need extra time to become suitable for placement in permanent homes. Project Save was created to help us care for these animals that are difficult to place.
Sponsoring one of these special pets is easy and it only costs $10.00 a month! All you need to do is fill out the Project Save coupon(be sure to indicate which animal you would like to sponsor) and return it, along with your payment to PAHS. You’ll receive several Project Save envelopes for your monthly “pet support” as well as a picture and regular updates. As a Project Save Sponsor, you are also invited to come visit your special animal. They love being groomed, walked and played with by their special friends! Below are the animals enrolled in Project Save.

Over time Sneakers had developed a tumor in her mouth that was inoperable. She continued to eat well and had her “Sneakers attitude” in spite of the tumor. She was a real trooper for a long time but finally succumbed to the cancer just after Christmas 2012. Sneakers was a part of our shelter family for 6 years. We will miss her catitude!
Junior had grown old here. Over the years we’ve seen his muzzle turn grey and his joints begin to ache. With no one interested in adopting him, we cared for him like our own, and he always got what he wanted. As much as we loved him, we couldn’t stop time. When he started limping, he was telling us that he was uncomfortable. The Rimadyl wasn’t working and he was in pain. I’m so sorry to say that we said goodbye to Junior on October 5, 2012.
Thank you to all who sponsored and had good thoughts for him. He was a good dog and we are going to miss him.
Mr. Pickles Update…
Mr. Pickles was adopted and now is just where he wanted to be, the king of his castle! All the other cats are very jealous!
Duece has what unfortunately has become a very common story. He was here as a very young dog and got adopted, then a couple years pass, the family dynamic changes and Deuce comes back to us. He did nothing wrong. Dueces a very strong dog, but is excellent with commands. His size/strength combination is the only reason we put the “no kids”tag on him….for an experienced dog owner it may be a possibility. When you come and, meet Duece, be sure to see him outside of kennels to see his true personality shine through.
Miss Ella came to PAHS because someone in the family became allergic. She is 9 years old, has a little stub tail and purrs quite loudly. She has her own bed in the lobby, loves getting attention and will sit forever and let you pet her. Come visit her.
